The Spot Whiskeys are a unique and historic range, originally developed by the Mitchell family—Dublin wine merchants who began maturing whiskey in wine and fortified wine casks in the late 1800s. The name “Spot” comes from the colour-coded system used to mark casks: Green Spot, Yellow Spot, Blue Spot, and the more recent Gold Spot. Each expression in the range offers its own distinct character, influenced by varying cask types including bourbon, sherry, port, and wine casks. These whiskeys are celebrated for their rich, fruity profiles and deep connection to Irish whiskey heritage. Produced at the Midleton Distillery, the Spot range continues to honour the Mitchell family’s original vision while delighting modern whiskey lovers with its vibrant, flavourful style.
