Masi Costasera Amarone Classico is one of those wines that immediately feels like a statement in the glass. Made primarily from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes from Valpolicella Classica, the wine undergoes the appassimento process—letting the grapes dry on bamboo racks in winter to concentrate their sugars and aromas. When you pour it, you get a deep, dark ruby colour, and the nose is rich with baked cherries, plums, dried fruit, and hints of spice and chocolate. On the palate it’s full-bodied, warm, and indulgent, with flavours of preserves, vanilla, cocoa, and a balancing edge of oak. The tannins are strong but silky, the finish long and satisfying—this is a wine you savor slowly, best with hearty food or aged cheeses, or simply on its own when you want something layered and memorable.
