Garden County Distillery, nestled in County Wicklow, Ireland, is a family-run micro-distillery established by father and son duo, Michael and Gavin Clifford. The distillery is dedicated to reviving traditional Single Pot Still Irish whiskey, combining time-honored methods with innovative techniques to produce distinctive spirits. Distilled in September 2016 and bottled in March 2024, this limited release comprises only 575 bottles. It combines two casks: one aged entirely in ex-bourbon barrels and another finished for two and a half years in virgin American oak after initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a whiskey with notes of toasted oak, fresh pine, butterscotch, and bold pot still spice, complemented by hints of sour cherry and a beautifully oily body that leaves a lasting impression.
