Brenne Estate Cask is a distinctive French single malt whisky from the Cognac region, bottled at 40% ABV and offering a very different take on what a single malt can be. Made from malted barley and double distilled in copper alembic stills, it is matured in French Limousin oak before being finished in Cognac casks, bringing together rich oak influence and the fruity character of the spirit. The nose is beautifully aromatic, with vanilla, floral notes, pear drops and tropical dried fruit, while the palate brings ripe cherry, vanilla, cinnamon and a touch of sweet liquorice. As it develops, flavours of pineapple, coconut, chocolate and gentle spice come through, giving the whisky a creamy, rounded character rather than anything smoky or heavily peated. Aged for a minimum of six years and drawn from individual casks, Brenne Estate Cask is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys exploring whiskies outside the traditional Scottish and Irish styles.
